Tattooing is the act of puncturing the skin and allowing it to absorb a variety of colors of ink to permanently change its appearance. This can be accomplished in a multitude of ways and with a number of different tools. Carapace Tattoo & Piercing uses tattoo machines like Cheyenne rotary machines, Ink machines Dragonfly & Stingray, Bishop rotary and many machines from reputed machine builders from USA and Russia. We use needles that are single-use, pre-packaged and sterile, and are imported from Europe. After being used on each individual client, all needles are disposed of in medical waste bins just as in a doctor’s office. These bins are then delivered to the same medical waste facilities that handle waste disposal from hospitals, emergency rooms, and veterinary clinics.

The primary tattoo ink used at Carapace Tattoo & Piercing is Radiant Colors. Depending on the artists’ preference, either latex or nitrile gloves are used. Be sure to make your artist aware of any latex sensitivities you might have so he or she can use nitrile instead. Before you are tattooed, you will be asked to sign a release form stating, among other things, that you are of legal age and whether you have any allergies or medical conditions that might affect the healing or application of the tattoo.

The motto we have at Carapace Tattoo & Piercing is to create a place that is a creative melting pot for the artists working here, permanent and guests. All the artists here have a special style, something unique and important that adds to the creative spirit of the place. We strive to constantly evolve as artists and craftsmen, and one of the many things that characterizes Carapace Tattoo & Piercing is the level of collaboration and feedback between the crew members on their designs and techniques. You’re always welcome to stop by, have a cup of coffee or tea, and browse through our ever-growing library of art books, image references, and historical source material.

We charge depending on the tattoo design although we have a shop minimum of Rs. 2000. Please note that is impossible to give you an estimate cost over phone or email because the size and dimensions of the body varies from person to person. Any price estimations can be given at time of consultation only.
Custom means we do not provide you with a range of ready made tattoos to choose from, we try to provide each client with a personalized tattoo based either on their personality, their likes or their memories instead.
We do indeed. But it is important to keep in mind that not all tattoos can be covered, and your artist may recommend that you have a few sessions of laser removal first. For more information on cover ups and touch up’s you can message us directly by filling in the form below.
Laser tattoo removal is a process where a high powered light penetrates through the top layers of skin and hits larger molecules of ink subsequently breaking them down to be absorbed by the body. Ideally, laser removal will remove all evidence of a tattoo with no marking or scarring. Although some types of ink are harder to remove than others, and complete removal is not always possible.

Saran Wrap / Non-Adhesive Bandage: 3 hours after being tattooed you will need to remove the wrap. Use an unscented soap to wash the tattoo gently. Pat down with a clean paper towel until dry, then apply a thin layer of tattoo balm or unscented lotion. Do not re-bandage the tattoo.

After Bandage Removal: Keep the tattoo dry. No swimming, hot tubs, baths or submerging in water for 2 – 4 weeks. Showers are fine; just don’t have the tattoo under the water too long.
